Ontario’s Duel on the Dirt Series to Continue in 2021

ODCC announces collaborative clarifications

March 12, 2021; OHSWEKEN – The Ontario Dirt Competition Committee (ODCC) confirms the popular Insta Panels Dual on the Dirt Series will return in 2021. Five tracks will host Thunder Stock in Mini Stocks for special events.

The dates will be announced Tuesday March 15, but the committee felt it was important to release clarifications immediately.

“We remain committed to staying unified with our rules for the better of racing in the province,” said Brighton Speedway Promoter Mark Rinaldi. “This announcement will allow teams to finish preparations for an exciting 2021 racing season.”

Southern Ontario Motor Speedway (SOMS) joins Brighton Speedway, Humberstone Speedway, Merrittville Speedway, and Ohsweken Speedway with Thunder Stock and Mini Stock dates to be announced.

Rules have been clarified and posted on the ODCC website www.OntarioDirtComp.com. Among the revisions is that independent rear suspension will not be allowed in the Thunder Stock division.

Strut suspension Thunder Stocks must maintain all original stamped steel front frame/body including, but not limited to all suspension mounting points. These areas may be reinforced for strength, but the original material must remain in place with no alterations other than what is allowed within the existing rules.

Unleaded pump gas with no additives is recommended in the Thunder Stocks. Unleaded racing fuel with no additives is allowed. Alcohol is not allowed.

Any engine that was not originally delivered in the same year, make, and model of the car being raced must be pre-approved by the ODCC in writing.

Mini Stock rules have been reviewed, with the only update being safety harness must be 2016 or newer.

“We are excited with the direction of our stock classes for 2021 and beyond,” said Ohsweken Speedway promoter Clinton Geoffrey. “Management of every speedway has been co-operative and collaborative in the process. Great things are coming.”
